Inaugural FBA Game 2008.03.09 A bunch of guys getting together, playing ball! Someone was noticeably missing! I took some of the earlier shots.. then I let Knola take over the camera work. Her shots look better because I set the shutter speed higher, so instead of blurring, you see crisp frozen action shots! I shouldn't have eaten right before the game.. a little stomach cramp.. otherwise.. I'm in good shape, did you see the guns? I did knock down a few jumpers. I wanted to run... but maybe the court was too short.. or ppl weren't following? hehehe... 60 photos |

Canadian Auto Show 2008 - Part II After 8 (or 9, I lost count) years in a row of attending the auto show, the trip is no longer about the cars.. but about photography! LOL This year, I decided to focus on taking shots of the auto show in weird, obscure ways.. showcasing the parts, rather than the whole car. The vast majority of the shots were taken with my newest lens: a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 prime lens (which means I cannot zoom with it). Since I couldn't zoom, it limited my field of view as I had to move myself to frame the shot. But the limitation actually forced me to get creative with my photography! Comments / suggestions are welcomed! I'd love to hear which shots were your favorites! 42 photos |

Anjali's Potluck 01.27.2008. Invite me to an event that promises some good food and I'm there for sure! After the munching and drinking, we all sat around and just talked about anything and everything that came to mind. Good times! Albert & Sandy's Wedding, Part 1 Tina Chen is a great friend of mine since my UW years. (Viva les couch-potato buddies!) My Cooking: 2nd Photo Album Part 2 of my cooking pictorials. Now that I'm living on my own, with a wonderful kitchen (gas stove!!). I might as well save some money and do what I like to do best. Blue Ginger (executive Chef Ming Tsai) Hidden in the Boston suburb of Wellesley, MA, USA.. Taiwanese-American Ming Tsai and his mother Polly Tsai opened Blue Ginger in 1998. Ming quickly garnered a James Beard award, and celebrity chef status with his television cooking show, "Simply Ming". Zagat's Boston considers Blue Ginger the second most popular restaurant in the GBA. Chef Ming Tsai's style is Chinese/Asian Fusion. I enjoy his style of using Eurpoean techniques and ingredients but fusing in Asian flavor profiles into his dishes. This was the winning strategy that enabled him to beat Iron Chef Bobby Flay in a Duck battle in 2006. 41 photos |

The Dunaway Restaurant at Strawberry Banke While here in New Hampshire, I decided to continue my quest to eat at restaurants of Iron Chef / Iron Chef challengers. I came across Mary Dumont who battled against Iron Chef Cat Cora. The episode has yet to be aired. Mary Dumont was executive chef at The Dunaway in Portsmouth, NH. But to my dismay, she left The Dunaway in March 2007. However, new executive chef Ben Hastings, more than picked up where Dumont left off. Ben, who was there since the restaurant opened, was also a sous-chef on Dumont's team during her Iron chef battle. Ben also apprenticed with famous chef, Thomas Keller, at the renowned French Laundry. You can clearly see the clean French influence in his plating presentation. 60 photos |
