I was given notice by my landlord today that she wanted to sell her house, and wishes to remodel it before doing so. Thus, she wants me to move out after September. I was taken aback for a bit, but after a while, I came to understand her decision.

I want a house of my own, that’s for sure. But I’m a contrarian. I will not buy a house when everybody’s buying. I will not buy a house when the housing market is hot. I will buy a house when everyone doesn’t want to, when housing is the coldest thing there is.

And for my landlord, she’s a single parent now, living with her son and father. I do understand her predicament. If it were me in her shoes, I would find selling the house the be very tempting and also the most logical choice.

But there’s always a silver lining in the dark clouds. I have a couple of potential places lined up already. Of course, I’m still looking to live around this area of Steeles and Kennedy. I have a lot of things here, shops, restaurants, services, and I recently joined a gym near by. So I’m glad I have a few good places to look forward to. I will keep you updated!
