The holiday season is really hectic. I just spend all day shopping, or at least I WAS trying to shop. Ended up not really buying anything that I wanted to buy. I’m the type that I want to buy exactly what I want, always not finding the right thing, and ending up settling for something less than my expectations. I’m trying to make sure I don’t settle this time, so it’s taking me a lot longer than expected, and taking time from other things I like to do.
But I would like to declare one more thing before I finish this short blog. I’ve decided to put this new goal on my Achievement List
Before my death, I’d like to setup a Charity Foundation – The Chan Foundation to do charity work or scholarships. I don’t feel that I would like to give to other charities. The main reason is I don’t trust them with my money. Most “non-profit” organizations are acutally profit organizations in disguise. They pay themselves exorbant salaries and benefits but do leave the rest to charity. I don’t feel this ratio is what I’d like a Charity to be, and The Chan Foundation will be my vehicle for doing charity work. ‘Tis the giving season, so I’m setting this goal and will revisit it every year to remind myself to make sure it gets completed!
